Quentin's Story

The lack of readiness for Kindergarten generates tangible costs on communities, schools, people… but it also puts significant strain on important relationships. It may cost you a best friend. United Way of Southern Kentucky approached Vid Monster in 2024 with the goal of reinventing their annual media and outreach video. Where, in the past, they had taken a narrative documentary approach, we forged a new way... a short film that illustrates the point more clearly. This story, written by Art & Design Director, Chris Butler and co-directed by VMP founder, Sam Kirby, and VMP Creative Director, Nick Williams, tugs at the heartstrings and directly spotlights the importance of ensuring our kids are properly prepared for Kindergarten. The short film has been met with high acclaim and emotional impact across the Southcentral Kentucky region, hitting audiences with a high impact story they didn't expect to see in the middle of a United Way presentation.
